Cambridge Satchel Company to open debut store

British leather bag brand The Cambridge Satchel Company has announced that it is to open its first standalone store, in Covent Garden, London. The store will be located on Short Gardens in Seven Dials and will open in two phases.

The first phases will be unveiled as a pop-up store on December 8 in time for Christmas and will be open throughout December and January. The rest of the store will be completed in time for London Fashion Week and will also have an exclusive Bloggers Lounge.

Founded in 2008 by Julie Deane, Cambridge Satchel Company is known for its quirky, colourful leather satchels, inspired by the traditional satchels of the 1970s, all of which are made in the UK, and until now the satchels have only been available via its website and through wholesale stockist such as Asos.

Commenting on the opening, Deane said: “This has been an incredible year for The Cambridge Satchel Company, our customers want a place to come and visit us and we have found the perfect home in Covent Garden.

“This shop will be unique, not only will we be selling the core range but also special exclusive bags, there will be a host of special events and something for the blogging community who supported us from the start.”
