New York designers Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler design duo, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, lead the CFDA Awards 2013 with two nominations, with both shortlisted for Womenswear Designer of the Year and Accessories Designer

of the Year.

Last year,
Proenza Schouler lost out to the Olsen twins high-end label The Row, however this year the designers have not been nominated, instead McCollough and Hernandez face competition from Marc Jacobs to be crowned Womenswear Designer of the Year, and Phillip Lim in the accessories category.

For Wang, the nominations for his eponymous brand rounds off a great couple of months, as the designer has just showcased his first collection since he took over the helm at French fashion house Balenciaga.

In the menswear category, Thom Browne faces competition from Michael Bastian and Steven Cox and Daniel Silver for Duckie Brown.

The prestigious awards take place June 3 in New York, where as well as awards for best womenswear, accessories, and menswear, the likes of Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang and Riccardo Tisci will also be honoured.

Bridal and womenswear designer, Vera Wang will receive the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, while Riccardo Tisci, creative director of Givenchy, will be honoured with the International Award for his outstanding contribution to the world of fashion, and Oscar de la Renta will receive the prestigious Founders Award.

Additionally, costume designer Colleen Atwood, who has worked on wardrobes for films including Snow White and the Huntsman, is being honoured with the Board of Directors' Tribute Award as recognition for her work in the world of film, while Tim Blanks, editor-at-large of Style.com, will be awarded the Media Award.

There are also three Swarovski-sponsored categories to honour emerging designers in womenswear, menswear, and accessories, with designers including Carly Cushnie & Michelle Ochs for Cushnie et Ochs, Todd Snyder and Pamela Love being nominated.

Recipients of the Swarovski Awards will each receive generous financial support from the world-famous crystal company, as well as exposure to the company's vast and innovative Swarovski crystal resources.
