Corrie Nielson wins Fashion Fringe

UK fashion design platform, Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden 2010 named Corrie Nielson the winner. She was personally selected by Honorary Chair of Fashion Fringe John Galliano during the catwalk show followed by an exclusive

event.

Alice Palmer, Corrie Nielsen and Jade Kang showcased their collections at The Flower Cellars Covent Garden, as part of London Fashion Week’s official schedule. Corrie Nielsen was presented with a trophy designed by young, London based jewellery designer Jessica McCormack who is now in her second consecutive year of designing the Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden trophy.

Prior to the ceremony John Galliano invited the finalists, to visit the Dior Atelier in Paris. For July and August the designers were given a budget along with studio space from the London College of Fashion to create their capsule collection. Nielson is awarded £100,000 worth of funding and support from the Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden development fund for their business and a slot at London Fashion Week in February and September 2011.

Florida born Corrie Nielsen moved to England in 2000 where she began her studies at the London College of Fashion with a Foundation Art and Design course, she then went to Central Saint Martin’s in 2001 where she graduated in 2004 with First Class Honours in BA Fashion Design in womenswear.

Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden is supported by Covent Garden London, American Express, Davenport Lyons, DHL, and is an IMG event.
