Fashion week has seen many affiliations with social media channels including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Tumblr, and now Pinterest is joining the mix with a specially created ‘Fashion Week’ hub. The hub pinterest.com/fashionweek,

which launched for New York Fashion Week, is rolling onto London Fashion Week before continuing to Milan and Paris. The London fashion hub has partnered with a number of designers, brands and fashion insiders, who will be sharing the best in British fashion including Burberry and the British Fashion Council.

Burberry
will be pinning its latest line straight from the runway to Pinterest, which will be immediately available for purchase. Commenting on the social media site, Burberry shared: "Pinterest provides a rich canvas for us to tell the many stories around our shows and collections in a highly visual, highly shareable way.

“Pinners can share in the show experience from start to finish, transforming a 15 minute show into a multi-day journey, from collection inspiration through to Runway Made to Order purchase."

Pinterest teams up with London Fashion Week

“Pinterest has an unrivalled fashion following, making it the perfect platform for this visual celebration of London Fashion Week,” added Clara Mercer, head of marketing for the British Fashion Council. “The fashion industry is driven by rich image content and this initiative provides an incredible opportunity for some of the biggest names in British fashion to share insights into their Fashion Week experience.”

In addition, brands including Topshop, Mulberry, Anya Hindmarch, Jimmy Choo and House of Fraser are included alongside designers Charlie May, Eudon Choi and Paul Smith. There are also a number of bloggers participating including Fashion Foie Gras, Disney Roller Girl, Fashionista Barbie, A Girl, A Style and Liberty London Girl.

Commenting on the project, Katie Garlinghouse, head of community at Pinterest, said: “Millions of people already turn to Pinterest for their fashion inspiration every day, so we’re excited to highlight some of the best boards from London Fashion Week to give people around the world a behind-the-scenes peek from some of fashion’s biggest names.

“Our mission is to help people discover the things they love and inspire them to apply these things in their real lives - to translate their fashion inspirations from Pinterest to their own style offline.”
