The
Alice Temperley was ranked fourth on the list, closely followed by Versace in fifth place. Surprisingly two of Britain’s well known luxury brands Mulberry and Burberry could only claimed sixth and ninth place respectively, while Ossie Clark who is returning to fashion with a line for Debenhams was ranked eight.
Two high-street names also ranked in the top ten, Marks & Spencer were seventh and LK Bennett were tenth, probably helped by the Duchess of Cambridge who took second place in the People trending list behind the late Whitney Houston.
Google's annual Zeitgeist report was once again broken down into country, and America it seems are still all about European fashion houses with Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Chanel claiming the top three searches on the High Fashion Brands list ahead of American brands Michael Kors, and Ralph Lauren, who claimed fourth and fifth place respectively.
However, Burberry did do a little better in America’s most searched-for list, taking seventh spot on the High Fashion Brands list as the only British representative, which also featured Prada, Armani, Hermes and Celine.
