Sophia Webster launching Barbie Collection

The world's most iconic doll is inspiring luxury shoe designer Sophia Webster's new capsule collection. Barbie will be the inspiration behind Sophia Webster's upcoming collection for a line of shoes that will be offered for both adults and children. Webster's signature styles, including her Chiara butterfly stiletto sandals, have been bedazzled with pink hues and Barbie quotes.

This summer, it was announced that Barbie would be wearing flats for the first time after decades in powerful pumps and stilettos. Webster's most excited for getting to be such a major part of Barbie's history. “Creating a shoe collection for Barbie has always been my dream project, but getting to be a part of her embracing flats for the first time made it extra exciting and deeply personal,” Webster was quoted saying to WWD. “I love that this concept strikes a balance between dreams and reality—the idea of getting Barbie in some hi-tops and setting her loose in East London instantly appealed.”

This summer, 23 Barbie dolls wearing flats will be unveiled to the world. It's a historic moment in Barbie history, and for Webster who names Barbie as her favorite childhood toy, this is a collection that is near and dear to her inner child. Webster will not only be designing shoes in honor of Barbie, but, there will also be a Barbie by Sophia Webster doll which will wear the Riko high-top glitter sneakers.

Webster's Speechbubble flat sandals for women say "Barbie Doll", while the flat sandals for girls say "Barbie Girl". The collection is now available in Selfridges London, Selfridges Manchester, On Pedder in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Jakarta and Beijing, Level Shoe District in Dubai and on Selfridges and Sophia Webster e-commerce sites.
