Fashion Scout names 'Ones To Watch'

Talent launch pad, Fashion Scout, has named Carrie-Ann Stein, George Styler, Hiroko Nakajima and Sarah Ryan

as its ‘Ones To Watch’ for the Autumn/Winter 2014 season. Each designer, will join Merit Award winner Xiao Li, and showcase their collections this February during London Fashion Week at Fashion Scout’s Freemasons’ Hall.

Chosen by judging panel featuring Fashion Scout director and co-founder, Martyn Roberts, fashion journalist, Hilary Alexander, and designer and former Fashion Scout Merit winner, Georgia Hardinge, this season’s new wave of designers is be touted as the “strongest” line-up to date.

There are two Central Saint Martins graduates, Stein, who won the first Umbria Cashmere District Award in 2012 and is known for her striking silhouettes and experimental textiles, and knitwear trained Nakajima, who focuses on the idea that fashion is wearable art.

Joining them is Serbian-born Styler, who combines knitwear with other styles including Balkan elements, and Ryan, a graduate of The Limerick School of Art & Design, who was named Designer of the Year by the Irish Design Institute in 2013.

Previous Ones To Watch Fashion Scout alumni include Eudon Choi, Hermione de Paula, Phoebe English and David Longshaw. The Fashion Scout ‘Ones To Watch’ show takes place Friday, February 14, at 3.30pm.
