WGSN bringing fashion awards to London

Previously held in New York, the third annual WGSN Global
Fashion Awards is coming to the UK for the first time and will be held in London this November.The awards, which honour fashion’s most inspirational and innovative designers, have previously honoured the likes of Erdem, Net-a-Porter, H&M, and Liam Gallagher’s fashion label Pretty Green, and the announcement of the location coincides with the call for entries.
Award entries are free and the categories focus exclusively on outstanding design across apparel, accessories, retail and e-tail, in addition to recognising the best specialist design teams in categories including denim, intimates and swim, kidswear and sports and activewear.
Lauretta Roberts, WGSN Global Fashion Awards Director, said: “Our new category line-up offers more opportunities for designers and design teams, large and small, to have their work recognised on a worldwide scale.
“We are very excited to bring the awards to London for the first time. Renowned globally for its innovation in fashion, we believe London will perfectly capture the spirit of the WGSN Global Fashion Awards.”
Winners will be selected by an expert panel of judges, including some of the most prominent people in the fashion and style industries, including designers, buying directors, stylists, merchants and marketing executives.
The deadline for entries is August 17, with the awards taking place at The Savoy on Monday, November 5.
