Former Marks and Spencer boss Sir Stuart Rose has taken

an advisory role with HCBC, Europe’s biggest banking group, to advise the bank’s clients in the retail and consumer industries. The retail veteran recently accepted a part-time role on the European advisory council in HSBC’s investment banking division, according to Sky News. The council has around six members from different sectors that HSBC can draw on for advice and Rose will be aiding the bank on issues in the consumer goods, food and retail sectors.

It is understood that Rose was appointed to the council by Kevin Adeson, one of HSBC's top investment bankers.
