Sustainable Dutch fashion brands travel to Paris together

A unique project which offers thirteen Dutch sustainable

fashion brands the opportunity to present themselves during the Prêt-à-Porter Paris, So Ethic from 3rd to 6th September 2011. WaVe-Up Marketing & Promotion, in partnership with EVD International, has made collective participation possible with the Dutch ‘Green Orange’ pavilion.

“Dutch Eco Fashion will be put on the map in Paris this autumn”, according to Sylvie Verdierre, who is the project initiator and WaVe-Up’s founder. Her many years of experience as Project Manager for various different exhibition organisations has given Sylvie Verdierre the ability to pinpoint exactly which factors are important to fashion entrepreneurs in order to realise a successful exhibition participation. She therefore sees assisting and advising the exhibition participants within this specific area as a very important task. Sylvie launched WaVe-Up a year ago together with her son Stephan Waals. “One of WaVe-Up’s areas of expertise is to represent international fashion events in the Netherlands, including Prêt-à-Porter Paris, The Train & The Box New York and Livingroom Tokyo. Plus WaVe-Up also offers exhibitors a number of – mostly free of charge – services, like support during the exhibition preparation and promotion. WaVe-Up acts like the link between the exhibitor and the exhibition.”

Green Orange: Stronger together
So who will be coming along to Paris in September? Dutch sustainable fashion will have a strong presence in the joint pavilion, appropriately named ‘Green Orange’. From Van Marcoviec’s ‘eco-luxurious’ collection, Rianne de Witte’s stylish and timeless outfits, Inti Knitwear’s beautiful durable knitwear, the traditionally woven jeans by Intoxica, right to the contemporary jewellery produced by Ineke Otte. “It’s an excellent mixture of some fantastic brands”, according to Sylvie Verdierre. “And the special thing about this project is the fact that the thirteen participating brands will be strengthening and complementing each other whilst they are out in Paris!” Other brands which have firmly gripped this unique opportunity with both hands include Eco Couture, Elementum by Daniela Pais, Barbara Munsel, Alchemist, Michael van der Meide, Loints of Holland and MY.

New York, New York
The collective exhibition entry of the thirteen Dutch ecologically responsible fashion brands is a project which – where Sylvie Verdierre is concerned – will most definitely have a sequel. “First of all, we are incredibly proud of the fact we have managed to launch this project and are convinced ‘Green Orange’ will be a great success during So Ethic in September. We are therefore already working hard at ensuring Dutch fashion brands will be given the opportunity to jointly present themselves again next year.” WaVe-Up isn’t just working towards a collective participation at Prêt-à-Porter Paris in January 2012, but is also hoping to send a Dutch delegation to New York during The Train & The Box in February.
