“Due to the highly competitive nature of the current retail environment, C. Wonder will be closing its remaining stores," a spokesperson from the preppy fashion retailer said in a statement to the Daily News.

"The Company continues to evaluate its best alternative to maintain the C. Wonder experience for its customers," added the spokesperson.

As reported by the ‘New York Times’, the retailer, the brain-child of designer Tory Burch’s ex-husband, Chris Burch, has already shut down its Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest pages.

Meanwhile, the retailer’s website is still online, but will be taken down by the end of next week, ‘BuzzFeed’ reported.

Not long ago, Morgan Stanley listed the fashion retailer amongst top accessories companies, along with the likes of Michael Kors, Coach, Tory Burch, and Vera Bradley.

It is noteworthy that C. Wonder, which was launched in 2011, has been struggling to remain afloat for months. Back in November, sources told Buzzfeed that the company would be shuttering 20 of its 32 store locations, according to ‘Forbes’.
