Pure Origin, the section of the Pure London trade show dedicated to fashion sourcing and manufacturing, has announced this year’s line-up of speakers and topics for its 10-12 February show.

The event will be kicked off on Sunday with a talk by solution consultant from Lectra UK and Northern Europe, Jovit Balseviciene, and UK and NE Managing Director from Lectra SA, Jean-Patrice Gros, who will discuss the importance of finding a sustainable business model that saves time, fabric and cuts costs.

Christopher Stopes, representative of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTs) in the UK, will talk about the benefits of organic fibre production on farms and organic processing in factories. Fashion consultant and former COO of Matches Fashion Frances Card, Ian Maclean, will be leading a panel called ‘Beyond Brexit: The way ahead’ where implications of Brexit on the fashion industry will be discussed.

On Monday, experts from World Textile Information Network’s leading publications Industry Digitalisation and Technical Textiles will take to the stage, with Tansy Fall discussing the changing shape of the textile and apparel manufacturing supply chain, and Maddi Cornforth looking at Amazon’s investments and patents in the textile, apparel and fashion sector.

Market intelligence analyst on Technical Textiles, Anna Borkowicz, will give her insight into industry and market challenges associated with development and commercialisation of smart clothing sport and fitness.

On Tuesday, Fiona Haran, editor of WTiN’s Future Textile, will talk about innovations in athleisure, and Alistair Knox, chairman of ASBCI follows, will outline the importance of garment costing in the clothing industry as fashion supply chains become more complex, and increasingly offshore.

Debbie Luffmann, product director at Finisterre, will offer advice on transitioning to a sustainable circular economy, before Mark Powell, senior consultant at EFI Optitex, will close the show with a talk on using 3D digital transformation to support sustainability.

The next Pure London and Pure Origin take place at London Olympia from 10-12 February 2019. Be sure to check Fashionunited for our full coverage of the event.
