Marc Jacobs is set to reveal the new name for his eponymous line, Marc by Marc Jacobs, before the debut of the brand's

first collection since Katie Hillier and Luelle Bartley took over the line's creative helm and were named creative director and women's ready-to-wear design-director respectively.

Jacobs reveals his long-term dislike for the name of the brand, adding that he has “an idea of what it should be, which I presented to everyone, but I can't really say it yet”. The brand is set to show its new collection on February 11 during New York Fashion Week.

“I'm very superstitious that way. I always believe that if I say something before it' s done it won't really happen,” said the designer to Vogue. He adds that the upcoming collection for the line will showcase clothing that the designers themselves would wear.

Bartley believes that the brand' s Fall/Winter 14-15 collection is all about “being playful” again, stating that the Marc girl has a number of different influences and would not purchase a “head-to-toe designer look”.

However it is not just the Marc by Marc Jacobs label that is being revamped, Jacobs has also been hard at work renewing things at his mainline, from the shop interiors and logos to bringing new life to product categories such as handbags and footwear.

He explains that he let the design team create handbags for the line, but without his leadership, merchandisers stepped in and caused the designs to become “polluted and diluted” and lose their identity. “Not to blame anybody, but things slipped, and the only one who can change that is me,” added Jacobs.

All these changes are interesting to note, as Jacobs himself readily admits that he “hates change” and does not wish to “follow in someone else' s footsteps”. However, with a future IPO coming up he will have to adapt to change.

Bernard Arnault, founder of LVMH, shared his ambitions this week for Marc Jacobs' upcoming IPO. He hopes that Jacob's IPO will match or even succeed that of Michael Kors, whose entry into the stock market broke records in 2011.
