The Association for Contemporary Jewellery has
set off on a touring exhibition of jewellery created to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, featuring more than 30 different designers from the UK.The exhibition opened at Birmingham City University this month, and will be visiting Llantrisant Gallery in May, and then will move onto London where it will be the first external exhibition at the brand new Goldsmiths’ Centre, as part of London Jewellery Week in June. The tour completes in Scotland, with stops in Edinburgh and Glasgow in July and August.
The tour features 32 jewellery designers including Myia Bonner, Zoe Robertson and Kelvin Birk, who have all created special pieces of jewellery around the Jubilee theme, from both precious and non-precious materials including crushed gemstones, sweets, ribbons, diamonds, silver and gold.
All the pieces for the exhibition were selected by a panel featuring Jacqueline Gestetner, Joanna Hardy, Corinne Julius, Kath Libbert, Karen Dell'Armi, and chaired by Professor Jack Cunningham.
