Adell quits Desigual

Desigual CEO Manel Adell has announced he will quit the Spanish fashion label which
he has headed up since 2002. Adell is leaving the firm in January 2013 to start 'new professional and personal projects'.Adell has worked together with Desigual founder Thomas Meyer since 2002. Together they built a company that is expected to generate revenues of 700 million euros in 2012. The brand operates 275 directly-owned stores and is available in 7000 multi brand stores and 1800 shop-in-shops in over 70 countries.
After having focused on the US and China, the company is now directing its attention towards Latin America. Adell said as much a few weeks ago at Bread & Butter in Berlin. "We will be opening offices in Mexico and Brazil. We already have personnel in place who will be focusing on wholesale. It's going to be a big project for 2013," Adell said. The company is also planning the opening of a significant new logistics centre near Barcelona sometime in the future.
