Sportswear giant Adidas has promoted Eric Liedtke to succeed Erich Stamminger as executive board member of global

brands of Adidas AG, after Stamminger decided not to extend his contract, for personal reasons.

Liedtke currently serves as senior vice president of Adidas Sport Performance, a division of the company which offers high-tech products for amateur and professional sportsmen and women and in his new role he will aim to boost the sportswear brand ahead of the World Cup finals in Brazil.

Commenting on the appointment, Herbert Hainer, CEO of Adidas, said: “We are committed to giving our next generation of leaders more responsibility for the future of our Group. Following the appointment of Roland Auschel last year, we are now very pleased to welcome Eric Liedtke to the Executive Board.

“Over the past years, Eric Liedtke has contributed to the extremely positive development of adidas both in North America and globally. We are convinced that he will lead our brands into the next era of desirability, success and growth.”

Liedtke joined Adidas in 1994 and has held numerous senior management roles including vice president of brand marketing at Adidas America, before moving to the brands headquarters in Germany to take on the role of senior vice president of global brand marketing. He has been in his current role of SVP Adidas Sport Performance since 2011.
