Adrianne Shapira joins Gilt's board

Gilt, the online designer flash-sale website, has appointed Adrianne Shapira to the company's board of directors.

"Adrianne's wealth of experience in both traditional retail and e-commerce makes her a terrific fit for our board," said Kevin Ryan, founder and chairman of Gilt. "Her perspective and leadership at a luxury brand will be a great asset to Gilt and we look forward to her contributions."

Shapira has been serving as the chief financial officer of David Yurman, a fine jewellery luxury brand, since 2012, where she is also a member of the executive committee that looks to build upon David Yurman's successes by capitalising on future channel, category and geographic growth.

Prior to joining David Yurman, Shapira had a 13-year tenure at Goldman Sachs, where she was managing director in global investment research covering the retail sector.
