Iconic London hotel, Claridge’s has announced that Lanvin’s Creative Director, Alber

Elbaz will be designing its Christmas tree this festive season. Elbaz who is a longstanding guest at the hotel has created a ‘colourful and whimsical design’ complete with his trademark marionettes dressed in Lanvin-designed Claridge’s hotel uniforms.

The Claridge’s Christmas tree, which has become a holiday tradition in London is unveiled on November 22 in its Art Deco lobby, and will be on display until January 2, 2012.

Commenting on the collaboration, Elbaz says, “The concept of the Christmas Tree decoration is to create an installation that carries the spirit of Lanvin, an infusion of tradition and modernity at the same time. The tree is to emanate and bring heart-warming joy to all who work and stay as guests at Claridge's hotel: It's my way to wish them a very Merry Christmas.”

Thomas Kochs, Claridge’s General Manager, added, “We are thrilled to welcome Mr Elbaz this year to spread the Christmas magic in our iconic lobby. It is simply wonderful to see this talented designer decorate the tree in his whimsical style. The House of Lanvin and Claridge’s are synonymous with longstanding tradition and timeless glamour, and we are sure to bring the Christmas magic alive this festive season.”
