Alexandra Harper Millinery teams up with Disney

London-based milliner Alexandra Harper is partnering with the Walt Disney

Company UK to create one of a kind designer hats and headpieces inspired by some of the company's most popular stories and characters.

The first collaborative capsule collection to launch is based on Disney's upcoming movie 'Maleficent', which is based around the iconic villainess in the 1959 classic movie 'Sleeping Beauty'. Harper has designed four pieces that were inspired by the dark anti-protagonist.

“Working with Disney is an honour,” commented Harper. “Disney films are timeless, and just like Disney characters and their worlds, millinery is all about the fantastical. Drawing inspiration from the villainous ‘Maleficent’ character, the first Alexandra Harper Millinery for Disney collection blends luxurious materials in blacks, purples, and even shocking red with just the right amount of Disney magic.”

Bridget Robertson, senior commercial manager for fashion accessories at The Walt Disney Company UK added: “We are thrilled to be working with Alexandra Harper Millinery to create these aspirational statement headpieces, which combine Maleficent’s flamboyant elegance with their own fantastic individuality.”

Harper will be working with the company and will design several collections for Disney over the next two years. The second capsule collection to be released will be based around Peter Pan and Tinkerbell and is set to launch this September.
