Amazon gains in Facebook presence

Global online marketplace Amazon was the big social media


winner in March, a new study reveals, as it saw a steep percentage rise in its number of Facebook fans.

According to ecommerce software solutions firm, Channel Advisor’s UK Facebook Index, Amazon had a 28% rise in Facebook fans; New Look, as in February, added the most fans during March, increasing its total by 153,000, but Topshop remained at the top of the chart with 2,269,774 fans.

The top five of the index is comprised solely of fashion retailers, with Topshop followed by ASOS, New Look, River Island and Urban Outfitters, each of which has more than one million fans, while Amazon’s ascent was the only change to the top 20
