American Apparel opens in Westfield

Previously struggling, US fashion brand, American Apparel has

opened a new store in Westfield London. The 2,100 sq foot space forms part of the retailers UK expansion plan following new financial backing and takes the total number of UK stores to 18.

Earlier this month American Apparel opened two Selfridges concessions and in November opened a store at the Galeries Lafayette in Lille, France.

Commenting on the opening Marsha Brady, creative director for American Apparel, said: "Westfield London is one of the largest shopping centres in all of in the United Kingdom and we're thrilled to be there.”

She added: “We've had great success together in Westfield Malls across the US and opening with them in London will be a significant addition to our foothold there. We're pleased to have the opportunity to serve a new set of customers and expand our offerings for those already shopping at our stores."

With its HQ in Los Angeles, American Apparel has 11,000 employees and operates 249 retail stores in 20 countries worldwide.
