The US-based fashion retailer American Eagle is poised to

enter the UK market and open its first brick and mortar stores, according to inside sources. The company previously hired property agent Harper Dennis Hobbs to help find a retail location in London.

Retail Week reported that the teen fashion retailer is looking to sign leases for stores in three locations; in Westfield London, Westfield Stratford City and in Blue water. The new stores could be open as soon as summer 2014.

The teen fashion retailer's entry into the UK will follow the opening of other US brands in the country, including brands like J. Crew and Brandy Melville who recently opened stores in London. American Eagle currently offers world-wide shipping through its online store and has 55 franchised stores outside the US, in key markets such as China and Russia.
