Andrew Lee, licensing, franchise and wholesale director at Kurt Geiger, the UK's second

largest footwear retailer, has handed in his resignation.

Lee joined Kurt Geiger back in 2006, where he worked his way up the role of interim merchandising director before being promoted to his directorial role, which he has held for the past six years. According to Drapers, documents filed at the companies house show that Lee handed in his termination papers earlier this month.

His departure from the company comes shortly after Jones Group, parent company of Kurt Geiger, Anne Klein, Stuart Weitzman and more, was purchased by private equity firm Sycamore for 730 million pounds. The deal is predicted to be finalized during the second quarter of 2014 and it is thought that the company is currently preparing for the upcoming acquisition.

Prior to joining Kurt Geiger, Lee worked was a senior manager at department store chain Marks & Spencer and in the business development sector at Sainsbury's. A replacement for Lee has yet to be announced.

Company sales for the year to date are up 9 percent to 230 million pounds, boosted by a 21 percent increase overseas.
