According to last equity research by shinesroom.com,

apparel stores, such as Ann Inc. and The Talbots Inc. have been benefiting from lower cotton prices which have declined by about 50 percent from last year's highs.

Nevertheless, challenges remain especially for industry players which have been focused on an older demographic. Attracting new, working customers from the younger generation is a challenge, and doing so without alienating existing consumers even more so.

Ann Taylor has been overcoming this with its Loft stores, dedicated to younger customers. The company already has considerably more Loft locations than Ann Taylor locations and has recently opened a store in Michigan as well as announcing a fall opening in Fort Worth, summarized at shinesroom.com.

Ann Inc.’s share price has entered into oversold territory with a stochastic value of 18.751, highlighted the analysis team at Zacks Equity Research. The Zacks Consensus Estimate on the company’s earnings for January 2013 increased by 6 cents over the past two months to $1.99 per share. Ann Inc. is a Zacks #1 Rank (“Strong Buy”) company.
