Asos, Debenhams and LVMH win at World Retail Awards

French luxury conglomerate LVMH took home the top prize
of international retailer of the year at this year’s World Retail Awards, an accolade that has previously been given to H&M and Primark.The honour awarded for ‘profitable growth internationally’ was collected by former chief executive and chairman of Louis Vuitton, Yves Carcelle, who was also presented with the outstanding leadership award, for his service to the global luxury industry.
A number of British retailer’s won awards including online retailer Asos winning retail technology initiative of the year for its ‘Fit Visualiser’ powered by Virtusize, while Tesco’s clothing line F&F took home the omnichannel retailer of the year. Department store Debenhams was also recognised for its ‘Endless Aisle’ scheme, which won the prize for supply chain initiative of the year.
Other winners included private sales website Ventee-privee.com, who took home the prize pure-play e-tailer of the year, and Australian footwear brand Shoes of Prey were crowned as store design of the year <1200sqm beating off tough competition from Karl Lagerfeld and Puma.
