Asos debuts Chinese website, Asos.com/cn

Online fashion retailer Asos launched its Chinese site today.

The new site is the eighth local-language site that the e-retailer has set up and joins the likes of the US, Russia, Australia, Germany, France, Spain and Italy.

In order to enter the Chinese market successfully, Asos teamed up with Hybris, an e-commerce software and multi-channel solution for online retailers, to create a unique shopping platform. Asos.cn offers its Chinese customers a specific tailored made version of Asos and features extras such as pricing in Chinese Yuan Renminbi, local delivery services and return options, relevant editorial content and social media platforms. The site boosts a 365 day a year shipping service, alongside a seven day a week customer service hotline and the option to pay via Alipay or in cash on delivery.

Chief executive at Asos, Nick Robertson said, “China continues to impress us with its steady growth. While the launch will not only help navigate and break down existing barriers but also dramatically improve the Asos experience for our fast growing number of Chinese customers.”

Asos stocks and sells over 60,000 global brands and ships to 241 countries and territories across the world from its distribution center in the UK.
