Online retailer Asos has become the latest brand to offer click-and-collect

services, following the likes of Very.co.uk, as it attempts to compete with multichannel retailers.

The service, which allows customers to pick up their Asos orders from a network of more than 4,500 local CollectPlus stores, means that consumers don’t have to rely on the Post Office or a neighbour to take in a parcel.

Research conducted by Opinium for CollectPlus shows that missing a delivery or having to wait in for a delivery are the top frustrations in the delivery process, with 74 per cent of under 30s more likely to buy from a retailer if they offer click-and-collect services.

Mark Lewis, Chief Executive of CollectPlus commented: “I’m delighted that Asos have chosen to offer our Click & CollectPlus service as a delivery option for their customers, allowing them to pick up their Asos parcels from their local CollectPlus corner shop. Our stores operate extended opening hours allowing top brands such as Asos to provide the same 24/7 service for returns and deliveries as they do for shopping online.”

CollectPlus is a joint venture between PayPoint, the UK’s leading retail payment network, and the leading parcel delivery company Yodel, and other retailers using the service include Boden, Topshop, M&M Direct, Karen Millen, Oasis, and Warehouse.
