Nick Robertson, chief executive and founder of e-retailer

Asos, has awarded the staff an early Christmas present. Robertson decided to donate 2.8 million pounds out of his own pocket to the staff. The founder told his staff in an email that they would receive a bonus in their pay slips this month. It was a “nice gesture” from Robertson, commented a spokesman at Asos.

This news comes swiftly after the company reported prevailing full year results, disclosing a profit increase of 37 percent to 54.7 million pounds on sales up 39 percent to 769.4 million pounds. Thanks to a successful number of years, Robertson was recently able to announce that the company’s goal of 1 billion pounds in sales by 2015 is currently “firm in our sights.”
