Online retailer Asos has signed a 100 million pound

logistics contract with Norbert Dentressangle, which counts House of Fraser, Marks & Spencer and Shop Direct Group as clients.

The three year deal will see the logistics and transport company managing the online retailer’s 1.1m square foot e-fulfilment centre in Barnsley and fulfil the e-tailer’s global deliveries.

Mark Holland, Asos’ supply chain director said: “The partnership with Norbert Dentressangle will continue to drive the Asos global service proposition, creating an efficient customer-focused experience, and supporting our mission to become the world’s number one online destination for young fashion.”

Martin Palmer, Norbert Dentressangle’s business development director added: “We have a proven track record in taking on and improving complex, high volume e-fulfilment operations and look forward to working with Asos to introduce new strategies and solutions to support continued volume growth and geographical expansion.”

Norbert Dentressangle took over the contract last month, replacing Unipart Logistics, and all 12,000 staff employed by Asos’ former service provider were offered the opportunity to transfer over to the new firm.
