Atelier Versace returning to couture catwalk

Donatella Versace has announced the return of Atelier Versace

to the catwalk for the autumn/winter 2012 season. The label marked its return to the haute couture schedule showing its spring/summer 2012 collection via a presentation and in July the label has confirmed it will host two catwalk shows at Paris’ iconic Ritz Hotel.

The venue holds a lot of history for the label, as Gianni Versace held his last runway show there in 1997 before his death, and it will be the first time the fashion houses has used the venue since 2004. After the Versace show on July 1 the hotel will close on July 31 for extensive renovation.

“It is with tremendous emotion that I return to the Ritz where I shared so many special moments with my brother,” said Donatella Versace. “The closing of the Ritz Paris for two years represents the end of an era but also the beginning of a new one, so to be able to show Atelier Versace there one last time will be a memorable milestone.”
