Baartmans & Siegel for River Island

River Island has announced its upcoming collaboration with designer duo Wouter Baartmans and Amber

Siegel, known as Baartmans & Siegel, for next seasons Fashion Film and Design Forum capsule collection for men.

The London-based duo met at Viktor & Rolf and are self-described modern-traditionalists, known for mixing traditional tailoring with sportswear shapes and forms. Baartmans & Siegel are the latest designers to participate in River Island's design forum initiative and join the likes of Katie Eary, Eudon Choi and William Tempest.

The 12 piece capsule collection for River Island takes its inspiration from male protagonists from the dark dystopian works of novelist Philip K Dick and director Michael Mann. Focus is on tailored outerwear, such as a structured double breasted blazer and an oversized parka as as well as key accessory pieces and statement footwear.

River Island is set to show its collaborative Fashion Film, directed by Ryan Hopkinson during London Collections: Men, in June. The Baartmans and Siegel x River Island capsule collection will launch in selected River Island stores and online from September, 2014.
