Kering, the luxury conglomerate which owns French fashion house Balenciaga is reportedly

suing its former creative director Nicolas Ghesquière for breach of confidentiality.

According to French business magazine Challenges, the label is filing charges against the designer for “breach of duty of confidentiality” following an interview Ghesquière gave to System magazine in April this year, six months after he left the fashion house.

In the interview, Ghesquière criticised the brand’s management and revealed that he left the label because he “ended up feeling too alone” and as though he was being “sucked dry” and that “it just wasn't fulfilling anymore." He also accused the French fashion house of “lacking in direction”.

Balenciaga replaced Ghesquière with New York Fashion Week designer Alexander Wang, who debut his first collection for the label in March. Ghesquière has still not revealed his next move, but there are rumours that the designer is set to take the helm at Louis Vuitton if Marc Jacobs decides to step down.
