Barbour opens its first international stand alone store in London

which celebrates the brand's mostly unknown motorcycle heritage.

The new store is 3,000 square feet spread over two floors and is located between Piccadilly and Jermyn Street. The standalone store was designed to showcase the brands biker fashion range and includes CE approved armor jackets, knitwear, footwear and accessories for men and women.

Barbour International was first introduced to the brand back in 1936, by Barbour's founders grandson, Duncan Barbour, who was immense fan of motorcycles and a eager motorcyclist himself. Barbour Internationals motorcycle suits have been traditional worn by almost every British motorcycle team since the range was first introduced to 1977.

“We are delighted to be opening our first Barbour International store in St James's Gateway,” said Ian Beattie, marketing director and national sales management at Barbour. “Motorcycle clothing first appeared in our brochures in the early 1900s and is just as important to Barbour's heritage as country clothing. With this new dedicated store we will be able to showcase our fashion collections inspired by the halcyon days of motorcycling.”

The new store opening is part of Barbours ongoing expansion plan to further retail growth in its key markets, which are the UK, Germany and the US.
