Barratts Priceless Limited has announced that Richard
Segal has joined its board as Chairman, and John Hood has been promoted to Managing Director for the Barratts and Priceless retail chains.Segal brings over 20 years of senior managerial experience covering the consumer, online, financial services and technology sectors to the high street chain; as well as a detailed knowledge and understanding of both private equity and the capital markets.
Richard Segal said: "I’m pleased to have been invited to join Barratts Priceless Limited and look forward to working with my new colleagues who show energy, drive and ambition at every level. Like many other retailers, the Company is currently operating in a challenging economic environment and I look forward to working with the executive team to accelerate its adaptation to recent market changes. The key opportunities for the Company are in expanding its rapidly growing internet business and growing its concession operation.”
Additionally, Hood has been promoted to Managing Director from his role as Brand Director for Barratts, which he took up in December 2010. Prior to this, he was a Director of Alshaya in the Middle East where he was responsible for the Footlocker, Milano and Payless brands. In his new role, he assumes responsibility for 100 Barratts and 89 Priceless stores in UK and the Republic of Ireland as well as overall responsibility for buying and merchandising.
Chief Executive Michael Ziff commented: “I am delighted that John is taking over this key role. The experience he has gained throughout his career, coupled with the time he has already spent in the business makes him ideally suited to drive our retail business forward at this time.”
As well as operating over 180 standalone stores, Barratts Priceless Limited also operates over 300 UK and Eire concessions across the Arcadia group.
