After footwear retailer Pavers purchased fourteen Barratts stores out of administration
last month, Duff & Phelps, the administrators of Barratts, have sold the company's copyrights and shut down the remaining stores. The stores acquired by Pavers shortly before Christmas kept on the 150 working staff and currently operate under the Barratts brand.
Philip Duffy, partner at Duff & Phelps revealed that the leftover 42 Barratt stores will be closed down for good after all remaining stock has been sold.
He added that a unnamed company had stepped in and purchased Barratts' intellectual property rights that includes the Priceless and Barratts footwear brands and website prior to authorizing the use of the Barratts name to Pavers.
The Leeds-based footwear retailer entered administration for the third time in five year last November and its administrators previously stated that they could not rule out any redundancies or store closures.
