Danish accessories and apparel brand Becksöndergaard has named

Lars Andresen as its new chief executive to succeed Lesia Zuk who held the role for just over a year.

Andresen joins the label from contemporary womenswear label By Malene Birger where he served as chief executive since June 2008. Prior to that, he worked at the Danish IC Company for several years.

Commenting on his appointment, Andresen said: “Becksöndergaard is a strong Danish brand with a clear profile, which has succeeded in establishing itself in a number of markets in Europe and Japan and I look very much forward to becoming a part of Becksöndergaard.”

Becksöndergaard, known for its scarves, was founded in 2003 by Lis Beck und Anna Søndergaard, both of whom sit on the management board with Beck responsible for design, production and buying, whilst Søndergaard looks after sales, marketing and PR. Last year the brand received investment from Swedish equity fund Valendo.
