Menswear supplier and manufacturer Berwin & Berwin has signed a deal with Vietnam-based
textiles business VITC to enable it to increase production by more than 20 percent.
The deal will see Berwin & Berwin, which already makes suits in Hungary and China, expanding its supply base in order to increase its output for current high street clients as well as its own eponymous collections.
Berwin & Berwin managing director, Simon Berwin, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to supply tailoring from another country and offer great value and quality to our customers. There have been suit producers in Vietnam for some time but this will be the first vertical operation and the first aimed at the medium to better end retailers.”
The Leeds-headquartered menswear supplier is a fourth generation business, which has been operating for almost 130 years. Its high street clients include the likes of Austin Reed, Next, Moss Bros, Ted Baker and House of Fraser, while its in-house brands include Berwin & Berwin, Hechter, Lambretta, Paul Costelloe and Baumler. As well as supplying the UK it also holds customers in several international markets including France, Germany, Ireland, and Spain.
