Vegan footwear label has been named the winner of this year's annual Observer Ethical Awards, in the Sustainable Fashion Category.
Best known for its cruelty-free shoes, which are made in Spain using sustainable alternative to leather, Beyond Skin was selected as category winner by a panel of sustainability experts, including fashion writer, Lucy Siegle and owner of Eco Age, Livia Firth.
Other nominees shortlisted for the category include Jocelyn Whipple, Antitheses, Katie Jones and Ecoture Project. The Observer Ethical Awards was first founded by Lucy Siegle nine years ago, to help promote ethical changes within a number of industries in the UK.
"We are so thrilled that Beyond Skin has been recognised by The Observer Ethical Awards, there currently appears to be real momentum on the topic of sustainability," commented Heather Whittle, footwear designer, head of e-commerce and brand manager at Beyond Skin.
"We are so proud that Beyond Skin is at the forefront of the fashion category." Beyond Skin footwear is available online, with prices for its diffusion line ranging from 60 pounds to 130 pounds, and its higher-end line retailing between 115 pounds to 250 pounds.
