Blue Inc, the UK-based fashion menswear retail chain, has bought 20 D2 stores out of

administration, rescuing jobs of about 200 employees.

Last month, Ayrshire-based jeans retailer D2 Jeans, founded by Scottish entrepreneur Sit Tom Hunter, slipped into administration, the second time within the last two years. BDO LLP, the administrators, said Sir Stuart Rose’s backed Blue Inc has agreed to acquire 20 outlets and they are in search for a buyer for the remaining D2 stores.

Blue Inc, which also bought 46 Officers Club shops out of administration in March, will increase its portfolio to 191 stores if the deal goes ahead.
