Premium fashion brand Bolongaro Trevor, founded by AllSaints founders and
designers Kait Bolongaro and Stuart Trevor, has secured more than 1 million pound in funding to help expand its UK and overseas business.According to Drapers, the fashion label was approached by an “unnamed government-backed low-carbon emission fund”, which will invest 600,000 to 800,000 pounds by the end of March. With the brand securing an addition 400,000 to 600,000 by individual “unnamed” investors.
The label attracted the funds because 60 percent of its clothing is produced in the UK, as well as its use of recycled fixtures and fittings in its UK stores.
Currently the brand has eight stores, four in London, as well as locations in Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham and Richmond. The funding will be used to expand the business to more than 40 stores, as well as take more of its production in-house.
“We’re looking in Brighton, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh,” Trevor told Drapers. “We are in discussions with people in Berlin and New York too.”
