Private sales website BrandAlley has launched its first ever television

campaign, which will air on a number of major networks including Channel 4, Sky Atlantic, ITV2 and MTV.

The 30 second advert, entitled Killer Shoes, takes on a humorous look at the lengths people will go for designer fashion, and features a woman on a quest for a pair of designer shoes after seeing them through a shop window with the tag “Too expensive for you”.

To buy the shoes the woman proceeds to sell the clothes off her back to get her hands on them, and the advert ends with her walking down the street in just her lingerie and new heels and the strapline “There is a Savvier Way to Shop”.

The campaign coincides with the relaunch of the BrandAlley UK website this month, which marks the first update since the e-commerce site separating from its French parent company and investor, News International as part of an MBO in January this year.

BrandAlley marketing and PR director Melissa Littler said: “As it’s our first TV campaign we wanted to ensure our brand personality shone through and stood out from other retailer campaigns. There is glamour and humour in the ad and I think most of us can really identify with that longing for the perfect designer purchase and then post rationalising it.”

Alongside the TV campaign will be a press, PR and social media initiative, continuing the debate ‘How Far Would You Go?’ which will be publicised through Twitter with #SavvierWay.
