Luxury watchmaker Bremont has chosen London's Mayfair as the

location of its first ever standalone store. The flagship store in South Audley Street will occupy two levels and have a club-like atmosphere with its very own bar.

Bremont was founded in 2007 by brothers Nick and Giles English and is backed by Links of London owner Nick Ayton. The British company has recently taken the decision to move all its manufacturing from Switzerland to the UK and will open a manufacturing workshop in Henley on Thames this autumn.

Commenting on the news store opening Giles English said: "As a British company we felt we needed a show-case to promote ourselves to visitors from all around the world. The boutique will be more than a traditional watch store. There will be an explorers club based from there, a considerable watch library and it will also be the only place in the world to see unique items like the Bremont B-1 Marine Clock."

The brand is also planning to open stores in the US, Hong Kong and the Middle East. It currently sells via its website and through 30 UK retailers in the UK, as well as 40 in the US. Retail sales are expected to reach £12 million in the current year.

The new store will open on 25 June.
