Browns, the leading independent fashion boutique,

is the latest big name to open on the southern end of Sloane Street as part of Cadogan Estates ongoing development of the area’s retail offering.

The fashion boutique founded in the 1970s by Joan Burstein, will relocate from the northern end of Sloane Street to 160 Sloane Street after acquiring a 1,800 square foot store on a 10-year lease.

The new store will be the anchor tenant to the evolving southern end of Sloane Street, which is already home to a cluster of high-end retailers including Chloe, Anya Hindmarch, Brunello Cuccinelli, and will join New York contemporary ladies and menswear brand, Rag & Bone, which is scheduled to open its first European flagship this summer on Sloane Square.

In addition, the area’s ongoing development will continue with the planned redevelopment of Liscartan House, located opposite Browns, which will provide an additional 25,000 sq ft of retail space by 2016.

Hugh Seaborn, Cadogan Estates, commented: “Browns is one of London’s most valued fashion landmarks, offering pieces that have been individually handpicked from the world’s top designers.

“As the anchor to the southern part of Sloane Street, Browns will strengthen the tenant mix further and provide a considerable draw to the areas as we look to attract more leading brands."
