Burberry has been named digital 'genius' in a new
survey by New York based, Thinktank, Luxury Lab's new digital IQ report. With labels being ranked across the following; websites, digital marketing, social media and mobile presence, Burberry came in as winner for its digital prowess with Kate Spade, Gucci, Coach and Dolce and Gabbana next respectively.
"From live streams to runway shows to an arms race on social media platforms, brands are seeking the halo of innovation that comes from inspired online programming," said Luxury Lab founder Scott Galloway. "However, most fashion brands still approach digital as a series of pet projects rather than presenting a coherent multi-platform strategy. Although 94 per cent of brands in the Index have a presence on Facebook, one in five still lacks e-commerce capability."
Other labels featuring include Tory Burch for its online store, Ralph Lauren for its Ipad app, Hugo Boss for its Youtube channel, and Michael Kors for its Destination Kors website.
