Burberry appoints non-exec director

British luxury brand Burberry has announced the

appointment of Matthew Key as a non-executive director.

Key, current Chairman and Chief Executive of Telefónica Digital will join the Burberry board on September 1.

His other positions have included chairman and chief executive of Telefónica Europe (formerly O2), Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer of O2 UK, as well as Chief Financial Officer for Vodafone UK.

Sir John Peace, Burberry Chairman, said: “We are delighted to welcome Matthew to the Board. His deep knowledge of digital and mobile, coupled with his extensive experience of building compelling consumer brands, will be tremendous assets as we embark on the next phase of Burberry's global growth."
