Burberry names first regional chief executives

Burberry has promoted Pascal Perrier and Andrew Maag

to chief executives covering Asia Pacific and Europe, Middle East, India and Africa, marking the label’s first regional chief executive roles.

Perrier, who joined Burberry in 2005 has been president of Asia-Pacific since 2007, will become CEO for the region. He will continue to be based in Hong Kong and will be responsible for the company’s expansion, targeting emerging markets, as well as focusing on the label’s digital development in the region.

While Maag, who has been president of Europe since 2010, will become CEO for Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa region, and will take on new responsibilities including strengthening the new beauty division, as well as developing digital opportunities in high growth markets such as the Middle East, Russia and India.

Both positions will report to Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts, who commented: “Pascal’s leadership has been instrumental to the successful integration of our China business, and wider growth of the Asia region.

“Andrew has led the transformation of our European business and its integration with the high-growth emerging markets that offer huge potential for the Burberry brand.”
