Italian apparel, lingerie, swimwear and hosiery brand Calzedonia is to open a new store in Brighton, its first outside of London.

Calzedonia has signed up for a 1,900 square foot unit in Brighton’s Churchill Square shopping centre, operated by Standard Life Investments. The store is expected to open later this year and will become its fifth store in the UK, joining its four other locations across London including its flagship on Oxford Street.

Head of UK retail at shopping centre owner Standard Life Investments Ed Jenkins said: “Calzedonia joins a strong group of international retailers already at the centre such as Apple, Urban Outfitters, Pull & Bear and Berkshka.

“Churchill Square continues to attract major brands due to the strength and depth of its retail offer and catchment area, and Brighton remains one of the top retail destinations for international brands looking for UK market expansion beyond London.”
