Luxury boutiques are being targeted by thieves and both Céline and Dior are the latest victims of theft. The stores, both in Paris,

were robbed on Wednesday with the stolen goods being valued near 100,000 euros.

French police confirmed the robberies, just days after Chanel in London saw a similar break in. “We don’t really know what happens to the merchandise,” one London source told WWD who has been the victim of several thefts. “The police seem to think that as soon as things are stolen, they are on a boat to the Continent as they’ve never recovered much of it in the UK.”

Just last month two robbers attempted to break into Colette, the Parisian concept store. Similarly, luxury jeweller de Grisogno was targeted in December.

According to statistics from the French National Institute for Advanced Studies in Security and Justice, France has seen a rise in theft since 2008, with commercial businesses seeing a 4.1 increase in 2013 in break ins.
