Celine to open Mount street boutique

Celine is to open its first UK boutique on Mayfair's Mount Street.

The French brand led by British designer Phoebe Philo closed its London boutique in 2009, just when Philo was appointed creative director.

Mount Street is one of London's most exclusive retail addresses, first occupied by Marc Jacobs and shortly followed by Balenciaga, Louboutin, Lanvin and beauty brand Aesop. Property investor Grosvenor is the majority owner of Mount street retail sites.

LMVH this week announced its sales soared 25% in the first quarter of 2012, helped by the demand for Celine's paired-down luxury sportswear.
