Chanel is taking over London's Burlington Arcade, a sheltered gathering of premium stores that reach between

Piccadilly and Bond Street.

The French luxury company has signed a long-term lease with Thor Equities, owners of the Arcade for five stores, reported WWD. In addition to opening a 807 square foot stand alone Chanel accessories store, the other four retail units will become home to a Barrie knitwear store, Bell & Ross watchmakers, milliner Maison Michel and swim and lingerie brand Eres, all of which are Chanel-owned.

“Our goal is to provide the highest quality tenants,” said Melissa Gliatte, executive vice president at Thor Equities. She added that she believes the new labels are “a wonderful addition to the arcade. No matter who you are…when you walk through the arcade there’s something for you, and I think that’s important to us to make sure we have a nice mix.”

The new stores are believed to open their doors before the holiday season kicks off.
